Biography:
Boris Kryštufek obtained his bachelor's degree in 1978 at the Department of Biology of the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana and started his career as a young researcher at The Slovenian Museum of Natural History. He received his doctoral degree at the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana in 1988 with the dissertation about taxonomic differentiation, zoogeography and ecology of voles (Arvicolidae, Rodentia, Mammalia) in Slovenia. He is currently working at the Science and Research Centre Koper as head of the Mediterranean Institute for Environmental Science and at the Slovenian Museum of Natural History as Head of the Department of Vertebrate Zoology and museum councillor.
Boris Kryštufek is author or co-author of more than 200 scientific articles, his scientific publications comprise over 700 units, and his scientific work was cited more than 1.000 times in the last ten years.
Boris Kryštufek is head of the Mediterranean Institute for Environmental Studies of the Science and Research Centre Koper and member of the Scientific Council.
