Biography:

Victoria Dos Santos is a Ph.D. candidate in Semiotics and Media at the University of Turin with a submitted thesis entitled “Technopaganism: A semiotic Approach to Digital Religious Phenomena”. She is holding a degree in Communication Science at the Catholic University Andrés Bello (UCAB) in Caracas, Venezuela, with a final thesis about Design as Activism. She got later a master in Journalism from the University of Barcelona and the University of Columbia in New York with a final thesis about Women in STEM Fields and the Glass Ceiling.

She is an affiliate member of the research group Digital Discourses at the Catholic University Andrés Bello (Venezuela), the “Centro Interdipartimentale di Ricerca sulla Comunicazione” (CIRCe) at the University of Turin (Italy), and an invited researcher at the project Creatures, Humans, Robots: Creation Theology Between Humanism and Posthumanism (CHR), which is based at the Institute for Philosophical Studies at ZRS Koper, and Alma Mater Europaea – ECM.

Her publication record and academic activities include 10 articles, 11 conferences in Europe and Latin America, 9 seminars, and 2 edited volumes. Her research interests focus on emerging religious practices in the digital space, contemporary paganism, semiotics, and digital media studies.
