Biography:

Erika Bešter graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology in 1996. In 2007, she received her PhD from the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana with a dissertation entitled ''Oxidative Stability of Extra Virgin Olive Oils of Slovenian Istria''. She was employed as an assistant at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, as an analyst at the Institute of Public Health Koper, as a professor at the Secondary School of Economics and Business Koper, lectured at the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies, University of Primorska.

Since 2002 she has been working in the field of olive oil, first in the LABS laboratory and later at the ZRS. She works as a responsible analyst in the Laboratory of the Institute of Oliveculture at ZRS Koper, and holds the position of quality manager in the accredited laboratory. As a researcher, she participates in projects of the Institute for Oliveculture at the ZRS Koper, works in the field of metrology and performs professional tasks within the Public Services in the field of oliveculture.
