Biography:

Tina Čok studied Sinology and Italian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. In 2019, she received her PhD at the Faculty of Education of the University of Primorska, Koper, Slovenia with a dissertation entitled "Conceptualization and Verbalisation of Verbal Actions in Slovenian, Chinese and Italian Language". Her main research area concerns the cognitive aspects of language learning and teaching, with a focus on learning and teaching Standard Chinese to Indo-European native speakers. She has studied and conducted research at several universities in China, most recently during her doctoral studies as a visiting researcher at the Center for Brain and Cognitive Sciences at Peking University. She has published several scientific articles and co-authored a scientific monograph entitled Culture on the tip of your tongue, Discussions on the intertwining of Chinese language and culture.
