International Symposium RELIGIOUS PEACE-BUILDING, INTER-RELIGIOUS DIALOGUE, MIGRATIONS and REFUGEE CRISIS
Institute for Philosophical Studies Science and Research Centre (IFŠ ZRS) Koper invites to international symposium
RELIGIOUS PEACE-BUILDING, INTER-RELIGIOUS DIALOGUE, MIGRATIONS and REFUGEE CRISIS
19. aprila 2021, online, from 9 a.m.
On the one hand, interreligious dialogue is more developed and dynamic in Europe than ever before, and on the other, interfaith relations are under strong pressure with the rise of nationalisms and in the shadow of the refugee crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic and are victims of harsh politicization. A critical understanding of the dynamics and different contexts of interreligious dialogue and the barriers to such dialogue is crucial to identify the best opportunities for successful dialogue and to enable coexistence in religious pluralism.
The main focus of the symposium is the search for new paradigms, models and possibilities for interreligious dialogue, as well as the search for new ethical criteria and theological responses to the refugee and pandemic crisis. At the same time, the symposium aims to connect these findings with the new ethics of religious peacebuilding in the light of interdependence and cohesion and rethinking the role of moral and intellectual virtues, communication and the importance of including women’s voices in interreligious dialogue.
The symposium will be held in English.
